Dana is a certified Pilates Instructor, completing Peak Pilates full classical, comprehensive certification - certifying her in all pieces of Pilates equipment (this certification also requires continuing education every 2 years to continue holding her certification). Dana is originally from Chicago, Illinois, practicing Pilates for 18+ years, teaching Pilates for 9+ years - promoting restorative and healthy movement. She found Pilates around age 12 while training as a dancer. Her ballet instructor highly recommended starting Pilates at a young age to help with training and for injury prevention/rehabilitation. Dana has 20+ years of ballet training, while also studying other styles of dance such as lyrical, contemporary, modern, jazz, and heels. Pilates played a large role in her dance training, as she noticed a big difference in her dancing when she practiced Pilates. She noticed her balance, range of motion, coordination, and control improved tremendously. Dana also used Pilates as a means to rehabilitate her body after injuries sustained while dancing.
Dana wants to share all of the great benefits of Pilates with everyone. She truly believes Pilates can not only help fitness-wise, but can also enhance your daily life. What Dana is most passionate about is finding the best Pilates regimen that best facilitates her clients' health and fitness goals while still connecting with clients on a personal level.
Dana is also extremely passionate in training dancers at any level. Being a dancer herself, she has firsthand knowledge and experience of what dancers go through on a daily basis. She has trained many dancers over the years to enhance their training with Pilates. Dana believes all dancers should have a Pilates regimen to help prevent injuries, their overall strength, range of motion, balance, and posture. A lot of the knowledge a dancer learns from Pilates they can take to their dancing.
